Should I register as a consumer, or as a service provider, if I am both?

If you don’t know how you’ll use WiredMates, register as a consumer. You can change to a service provider status at any time. If you would like to add personalized audio and video, or any other appropriate messages to your digital card, we offer upgraded digital cards.

Does WiredMates offer incentives for recommending services or companies?

We don’t reward people for recommending service providers, professionals, or companies. There are no incentives or kickbacks for recommendations. We believe that rewards would take the integrity away.

How do I know that the recommendations are truthful and accurate?

If you are unsure about the validity of a recommendation, you can use the in-app messaging feature to reach out to the person who recommended the service provider for more insights. The goal of WiredMates is to give you a platform to find people in your WiredMates network whose recommendations you trust.

How does WiredMates protect me from spammers?

There is zero tolerance for spammers in WiredMates network. Please report spammers to [email protected] or use the BLOCK PROFILE feature on the spammer’s profile page.

How do I encourage my customers to recommend my services?

Encourage your customers to take your WiredMates digital business card instead of your traditional business card, and ask them to use the “Recommend” tool on your WiredMates card or WiredMates Profile. The tool makes it easy for your customers to recommend your services and for you to expand your potential client base.

How do I know if my contacts and service providers contacts are up-to-date?

Business cards stored in the Business Cards folder will automatically update when contact details or jobs change. There is no need to enter changes manually.

Can I use WiredMates on multiple devices?

WiredMates lets you automatically synchronize your WiredMates information with all your devices—phone and the web app.

How does WiredMates secure my privacy?

We take your privacy very seriously and don't share your information with anyone outside the WiredMates network. You can control your privacy within the network settings. For additional information regarding how WiredMates handles your data, please visit our Privacy Policy page.

How do I add information to my personal profile?

Tap on your profile picture on the home tab and select edit profile. Alternatively, tap the settings icon, then tap profile, and then click edit profile on your profile page.

How do I add information to my professional profile?

Add phone, fax, address, specialties, certifications and information in 13 other categories by tapping the Settings icon, tap profile, and then edit profile.

How do I invite friends to join WiredMates?

Tap “Invite Friends” to send an invitation via text, email, social networks, or to invite friends from your phone contacts and your Gmail account.

How do I share my digital business card or profile?

Tap your profile picture on the home tab and select Share Card. Alternatively, tap the settings icon, then tap profile, proceed to tap Share Card, and choose an option that meets your needs.

What is the difference between the two main folders “Business Cards” and “Friends”?

Business Cards are your business, professional or other service provider contacts, and Friends are simply that, your friends. However, any of your business contacts can also be a friend in the WiredMates network.

How can I add a business contact as a friend?

Go to your business contact’s profile and tap “Friend Request”.

What is The Exchange?

The Exchange folder displays nearby professionals and companies who are in WiredMates network. They are typically within 150 feet from the device you are using, unless they have reduced the distance of visibility or opted to be invisible to nearby users.

Why am I asked if I would like to keep transmitting when exiting the Exchange?

The Exchange allows your card to be displayed for nearby users that are in the WiredMates network. When you access the Exchange you become visible to those in your vicinity allowing for ease of card transmission. However, you will no longer be visible on the Exchange once you exit, unless you select a time frame for prolonged transmission of your visibility to nearby users. This is perfect for networking events where your smart device of choice may be put away, yet your card will remain visible to those in your vicinity to take with ease.

How do I obtain a digital business card from a professional or company who is nearby?

Go to the Exchange and select the professional’s or company’s digital business card, and tap the Request Card sign. If the owner does not require consent, the card will be automatically stored in your Business Cards folder.

How do I obtain a digital business card from a professional or company who is not nearby?

Go to the home tab and search for the professional or company using the search tool in the upper right corner. Cards may be requested by tapping the add card icon. If the owner does not require consent, the card will be automatically stored in your Business Cards folder.

How do I recommend my trusted service providers and professionals?

Use the “Recommend” tool on your trusted service provider’s profile or digital card.

How do I share recommendations with friends?

You don’t need to do anything; when you tap recommend icon on a professional’s or service provider’s business card or profile, your recommendation can be seen by your friends when they search for a service provider either in their own Business Cards folder or on the Universal Search page. Alternatively, use the Share Card icon on the recommended service provider’s digital profile card and send it to your friends through email or text.

How do I instantly share a service provider’s card with people outside the WiredMates network?

Tap “Business Cards” on the Home tab, find the service provider’s card, simply hold the phone horizontally, then tap Share icon. Alternatively, go to the service provider’s profile page, tap Share Card icon, select Share Outside Our Network, then choose an option that meets your needs.

How do I instantly share a service provider’s card with people within WiredMates network?

Tap “Business Cards” on the Home tab, find the service provider’s card, simply hold the phone horizontally, then tap Share icon. Alternatively, go to the service provider’s profile page, tap Share Card icon, select Share in Our Network, find and select the user that you want to share the card with.

How do I add nearby WiredMates users to my network?

Go to the Exchange page, find the nearby user you want add to your network, and tap the Request Card or Add to Friends icon. In the alternative, using the search tool located on the top right corner of the home tab search for the user to add and tap the Request Card or Add to Friend icon.

What is the Trust Opinion icon for?

Activating this icon on a user’s profile means you trust this person’s opinion and would like to see specific or all recommendations made by this person. If this icon is activated, you will see recommendations by this person in your “Business Cards” folder when searching for a professional or service provider.

Why do I see the Trust Opinion icon on my friend’s profile?

We all love to have choices. Hence, this feature is provided so that you to may choose specific types of services or professionals recommended by your friend. If you do not activate this icon on your friend’s profile, you will see all recommendations by your friend in your “Business Cards” folder.

How do I expand my trusted referral network?

If you trust a specific provider’s judgment and could benefit from his or her recommendations, tap the Trust Opinion icon on that provider’s profile to have access to his or her recommendations. Recommendations by that user will appear in your “Business Cards” folder when searching for a specific type of provider or business.

If I have multiple profiles, how do I identify the card I want to share with nearby users?

Go to your profile, select My Profiles, and select “Make Default” for the WiredMates card you would like to share. Then go to Settings; tap Range, Visibility and Privacy; select your desired profile, tap profile visibility icon on the right to activate it. Your potential contact will be able to see your card in the Exchange folder.

What if my contact changes jobs or locations?

That contact’s card will be automatically updated in your Business Cards folder.

How can I save a contact’s digital business card in “Business Cards” folder?

Your contact’s WiredMates digital business card will always remain in your Business Cards folder unless the card is recalled by the user.

How do I organize digital business cards in Business Cards folder?

You may use tags or notes to organize the cards in your Business Cards folder.

What if I change my mind and don’t want to be connected with a specific business contact or friend?

You can recall your WiredMates digital business card from anyone at any time, or you may “unwire” (unfriend) the individual. The “Unwire” icon is located in the top right corner of user’s profile page.

What if I don’t want someone in my network to contact me?

You can block anyone on the network by tapping “Block Profile” located on the bottom of that user’s profile page.

Is there any other way to communicate with contacts in my network besides email?

Yes, you can send messages via the in-app messaging. Select the messaging tab and click on the WiredMates icon in the top right corner to start a conversation. Alternatively, go to that user’s profile and tap the Message icon.

Are messages sent via the in-app messaging platform private and secure?

We take your privacy and security very seriously, which is why we have end-to-end encryption for the in-app messaging.
